Introductory Post

Hi there! My name is Dylan Nordhagen. I'm a senior at the University of Tampa majoring in New Media. Outside of my university, I'm a freelance artist that specializes in stylized 2D illustrations.

I joined the New Media major because I wanted to broaden my interests and experiment in various new mediums to see what I would enjoy. So far, I've learned a lot about areas such as 3D modelling and music creation that I previously had zero experience in. 2D animation is slightly different, however, in that I do have some prior experience with it going into the class. My forte is in 2D illustration, so I'm aware of some of the foundational principles of animating in 2D specifically. I've also done some animation projects during my time at the university, including a rotoscoped video, a puppet animation-style motion project, and several sprite sheets for games. In this class, I hope to learn more about the principles and process behind animating to improve the skills I've developed so far. Likewise, I also hope that learning and applying these principles will allow me to further develop my own drawing style.
